If you haven’t visited Flourish Gift & Home on King William Road for a little while you might have missed their expansion, and can you believe it? It’s been almost a year already since this King William Road favourite shop has doubled in size.

As they prepare to celebrate the 1st Birthday of the new expanded space, we look at how, Jackie and Robbert (Flourish’ owners) and their team have had no trouble filling the extra space. With inspiring products for the home and perfect gifts for everyone and anyone you can think of, they have also utilised the extra space to expand their fashion and leather bags collection, which features popular lifestyle label; Elk.

When you walk into Flourish, you will be greeted by their friendly team who are always busy changing windows and merchandising new products effortlessly onto the floor all with the focus of ensuring you can find what you are looking for.

At a time where online shopping is always an option, Flourish provides you with the opportunity to touch & feel each product so you know the quality you are buying and learn the stories of some of their items with product ranges being locally produced or ethically sourced from overseas, there is always that added value of popping in store.

As Jackie has just returned from trade fairs interstate, you will find many exciting new things to explore in store in the coming months and Jackie shares with us below her top 3 picks to look out for in store this Spring.

  1.  There is a real movement at the moment for customers looking for purchases with a story, be fair trade or ecological, come from smaller producers. In essence things with a story. One of my favourite new gift finds is a range of tea towels from Melbourne, featuring local art, produced, printed and packaged in melbourne by special needs workers. Plus a great product, wins all round.
  2. Australiana. Not longer just the domain of tacky souvineer shops, featuring on art for our walls as well as gift lines like book ends or door stops.
  3. Blush seems to be the colour of the moment. All shades of pinks, greens and lots of cane in accessories and furnishings. A real British India vibe which suits the trend towards indoor plants and helps to soften hard industrial finishes. Right on brief for a shop like ours.
