Artists Monica Hall and Naomi McCann are showcasing their incredible SALA exhibition at the Local Wine Co on KWR.  We are excited to feature their ‘Scent of the Soul’ exhibition on King William Road throughout August.

Changes in Monica’s health eventually put her much loved career in film and television on hold. It also opened the way to new found passions, Art and Yoga. Never one to stop learning, Monica has taken classes in drawing, painting and pottery alongside training as a Chi Ball Instructor, Master Trainer in Fitness and commencing Yoga teacher training. Monica constantly seeks methods to enable herself (and others) to live well with the condition that was diagnosed as Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease in 2009.

SALA

“Art is such a gift, encouraging one to really observe their surrounds and appreciate same. It is a means to quieting the mind of concerns and to focus on the present. It is constantly evolving and forever changing. It is exciting, challenging, encouraging positivity, hidden talents and the joy of creating and learning.” – Monica

SALA

Monica Hall’s most recent works in watercolour, wash and ink embody the energy of quiet beauty often found in vibrancy’s shadow. The scent that lingers.

In Naomi’s work, delicate human forms find their way around and through bold marks and an expressionist aesthetic. Figurative content is often secondary to strength of composition and the intensity of the brush-mark. Negative and positive spaces vie for dominance as do the representational and abstract themes. Minimalist. But not.
